EMu supports your public engagement efforts in numerous ways, not least with:
Exhibition Management
Event management in EMu facilitates the organisation of an exhibition, planning a research project, or any number of other events that involve the objects in your collection.
An event record references all of the objects to be used in the event, as well as the event title, a description, credit line, organisers, funding arrangements and other costs, intended audience, start and end dates, a list of venues to be visited by the event (in the case of travelling exhibitions for example) and statistics measuring the success of the event, and so on.
Not only does EMu record all of the objects in an event, it also manages all candidate lists of objects as well as those selected and rejected. Set up and shut down instructions, transport, assembly instructions, and handling instructions are all managed by EMu, as are the management / tracking of supports, mounts and other accessories, staff resourcing and environmental constraints for objects.
Web / IMu
The distribution and publication of information and knowledge accumulated within EMu is managed by IMu. IMu defines EMu's strategy and toolset for publishing your content on the web and your Intranet, for use on desktop computers, in-house kiosks and on mobile devices such as tablets and smart phones.

IMu allows you to choose which components of your collection to publish online and then manages the process for you.
With the standard IMu interface, users and the general public are able to browse a collection online, search for narratives, objects and related information such as multimedia resources and artists’ biographies. Basic (keyword), advanced and structured searching are enabled. Records returned by a search can be displayed in lists, as a series of thumbnail images or in detail. - IMu Intranet
The IMu Intranet provides a working web interface to your collection for staff and other users with permission. - My Museum
IMu allows online visitors to browse your collection and add objects of interest to a list (similar to a shopping cart). Lists are persistent and can be viewed and modified at any time. Lists can be published in a range of formats
Implemented using standard web technologies, the IMu Web interface can be integrated easily with any existing website. It is highly configurable onsite and is provided with a rich suite of web tools, allowing almost any form of web interface to be configured.
You might choose to provide Intranet access to a live EMu data set or opt to replicate selected records to a web server that sits outside a firewall. How you wish to make your collection available online is up to you; EMu and IMu together provide the flexibility and security to meet your needs.
IMu’s web interfaces are delivered via a suite of web services, using a broad range of technologies (including PHP, java, .Net and Perl) that can be configured onsite to be consistent with your preferred online presence.
